The Father Story: Rules, Roles, and Legacy
A Free Enlifted Story Work Workshop
The stories we carry about our fathers often become the invisible 'operating system' for our lives. They dictate how we handle pressure, how we view success, and the boundaries we set for ourselves.
Whether your father was a constant presence, a distant figure, or a source of complex expectations, his 'voice' likely left a mark on your internal dialogue. This month, we are diving into the Father Story to examine the rules he lived by—and the ones you’ve inherited.
We will use the Enlifted Method to look at the stories of fatherhood and decide which legacies are worth honoring and which 'rules' are ready to be retired.
Who should come?
This workshop is open to anyone ready to explore the paternal narrative, including:
Daughters and Sons: Looking to process the 'rules' their fathers taught them or the impact of their father's presence (or absence).
Fathers: Navigating the weight of provision, protection, and the 'shoulds' of modern fatherhood.
Grieving Hearts: Those wishing to write a letter to a father who has passed or to bridge a gap in connection.
Leaders and High-Achievers: Anyone interested in how their 'drive' or view of authority is tied to their Father Story.
What is this workshop about?
This is a focused, pen-to-paper session where you can choose to:
Audit the 'Dad-isms': Identify a specific phrase, rule, or expectation your father held that is still driving your decisions today.
The Letter to the Father: Write a letter to your father (or your children) to express what went unsaid.
Rewrite the 'Provider' Story: If you are a parent, we will look at the language of 'pressure' and 'burden' and flip it into a hero’s story.
Breath for Strength: Use the breath to ground yourself as we work through stories of authority and legacy.
